Missions

The Urban Development Corporation:

• is responsible for the operational implementation of development plans in the strategic areas – the priority development areas defined by the government of the Brussels-Capital Region.

• plays an operational role to ensure the concrete development of these areas.

• works on a project co-construction basis with the private and public partners relevant to each operation.

• coordinates the public stakeholders concerned and the private partners involved.

• manages projects and work sites that no other specialist public operator is specifically tasked with running.

• proceeds, where appropriate, by means of land and/or building ownership control in priority development areas in Brussels.

• operates in conjunction with perspective.brussels, the Brussels Planning Agency, a regional public interest body responsible for statistics, socio-economic information and strategic and regulatory planning in the region.
