Foreign delegations take an interest in Brussels’ urban development projects

France, Korea, the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Austria, Sweden... Since the end of last spring, numerous requests from abroad for visits or information have come in to the Urban Development Corporation (SAU-MSI). These originate from a wide range of institutions and countries, with delegations showing an interest in how the SAU-MSI works and its ongoing projects relating to urban development in the Brussels-Capital Region.

Thus in September, the SAU-MSI first received the team of the Parisian planning corporation Paris Métropole Aménagement for a presentation on the future Josaphat district and a tour of the site of Usquare.brussels. On the initiative of the Korean Embassy in Brussels, it then welcomed some twenty officials from the Busan region working in areas such as regional development, planning, housing and urban regeneration.

In October, the SAU-MSI will receive two more delegations from Korea: first a dozen city councillors from Sokcho; and then around thirty leaders of  development agencies from several different Korean regions (Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, etc.), on the initiative of the Commission of Urban Development Corporations.

Further possible visits by delegations from other countries are still under discussion.
