Schaerbeek-Formation Strategic Area

Perspective.brussels, the Brussels Planning Agency, is responsible for the strategic planning of the conversion of this vast railway site, located near the Canal, the motorway Ring and the airport. Relating to an area of almost 600 hectares, the master plan, which was approved at its first reading by the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region in 2013, provides for a multimodal logistics platform in the north of the area; in the south, there will be a new mixed district consisting of businesses and at least 2,000 dwellings, 50% of which will be public housing.
