Manufakture: a new phase in the development of the Slaughterhouses site

Minister-President Rudi Vervoort and Secretary of State Pascal Smet joined the mayor of Anderlecht, Fabrice Cumps, at the official start today of construction work on the Manufakture building by the private concession-holder that operates the site, Abattoir S.A. They took the opportunity to take stock of the Brussels Region’s ambitions for the site together with the director of the Urban Development Corporation (SAU), which has purchased most of it and is coordinating its development.

The Government of the Brussels-Capital Region gave the go-ahead at the end of September for the establishment of the future Brussels Autism Centre on the site in Ixelles. He also entrusted the management of the project to the Urban Development Corporation (SAU), which has been coordinating the conversion of the former Fritz Toussaint barracks for several years now and which therefore has the task of making the Autism Centre a reality within the new district.
